What We Do
Enterprise Washington believes it is vital to elect business-minded legislators who recognize what must be done to foster a strong private economy, create jobs, spur sustainable green development and attract investment in Washington State.
We use a combination of nonpartisan research, candidate recruitment, fundraising and grassroots education to help elect business savvy Democrat and Republican legislators in our state.
Research
Enterprise Washington conducts comprehensive nonpartisan research in legislative districts across the state.
The research determines which business-minded candidates have the best chance to be elected. We then use the information to bring the business community together to support the pro-marketplace candidates who have the best shot at getting elected.
We also use campaign contribution analysis to guide our work. Following campaign money provides insight into which individuals and groups are funding particular candidates. It is important for voters to understand the values of the people and groups that are funding the candidates in their district.
Candidate Recruitment
The best way to improve the business climate in Washington state is to recruit proven private sector leaders to run for public office. Experienced private sector leaders not only possess great management skills and make great leaders, but they also understand the public policy needs of the private sector.
Unfortunately, for many years the Washington State Legislature has been largely absent of professional business leaders on both sides of the aisle.
Enterprise Washington and its members work hard to recruit candidates who are a strong match for their district, understand the private sector and who will support pro-marketplace public policy if elected.
If you have any business colleagues who you think should one day consider running for public office, you can download a candidate recruitment handbook.
"Play to Win"
Enterprise Washington works with our members to help coordinate the effective political action and fundraising needed for a vibrant and healthy business community in Washington state. We use our nonpartisan polling to advise our members to donate to certain candidates in elections where their contributions will have the most impact.
JobsPAC
JobsPAC is Enterprise Washington's 527 Political Action Committee. JobsPAC is in place to help elect legislators supportive of a strong and vibrant private sector through independent expenditures. Its primary focus is to help business-minded challengers unseat not-so-business-friendly incumbents.
JobsPAC gets involved only in races where the organization can make a real difference. JobsPAC doesn’t engage in contests it can’t win and doesn’t back those who are sure to win without JobsPAC’s help.
GROW
Growing Roots for Our Workforce, GROW, is Enterprise Washington's grassroots education program. GROW helps you stay informed on the issues that affect jobs and the economy in Washington state. The GROW program serves two main purposes: 1) to educate you on issues important to the business community, and 2) to help you make an informed decision come Election Day.
